Rejuvenating 7-Part Anti-aging Facial

Rejuvenating 7-Part Anti-aging Facial

We go to the doctor for regular check-ups, the gynecologist for annual exams, and to the dentist for periodic deep cleaning. Why don't we treat our skin with the same love?

It's too costly, you might say. But today we're letting you in on a pocket-friendly, 7-step DIY anti-aging facial.

What's good about anti-aging facials?

Apart from the feeling of relaxation, why should you start doing anti-aging facial treatments?

1. IMPROVED CIRCULATION

Slow blood circulation causes the skin to appear dull and pale.

Evidence suggests that massaging improves blood circulation, thus promoting a radiant complexion.

2. FEWER BREAKOUTS

Regular facials can help alleviate acne breakouts. A combination of proper exfoliation and the right products for your skin type can help make extractions easier and improve the absorption of treatment products.

DIY spot treatments reduce scarring, and glycolic skin peels reduce the appearance of large pores.

3. BETTER ABSORPTION OF PRODUCTS

Intense skin cleaning once a month can help with the absorption of your skincare products, allowing you to achieve your goals such as even skin tone, smoother and calmer complexion, increased hydration, etc.

4. DETOX

Massages stimulate the body's lymphatic system, which gives the eye area a brighter look, removes impurities, and firms the skin.

You have to execute the technique correctly for you to get the desired results, so make sure you do enough research.

Anti-aging facial steps

Remember: choose the proper products for your skin type and include anti-aging ingredients such as vitamin C, hyaluronic acid, peptides, retinol, and others.

PREP

Lay out all your products and fill a bowl with warm water. Add a few drops of essential oils. This removes excess product more effectively than splashing water on your face.

Next, prepare a batch of hot towels. After dipping them in hot water, add a few drops of essential oils, roll, and keep them in Ziplock bags for later.

Light some scented candles, dim the lights, and play relaxing music.

1. Cleanse

Show your skin some love by doing a double cleanse. Gently massage the cleanser into your skin for two minutes, rinse, then repeat. Remove the cleanser with a warm towel.

2. Exfoliate

Anti-aging facials give you the chance to do something different from your daily routine. One step to switch up is exfoliating with an at-home peel, instead of mechanical exfoliants.

Skin peels are stronger and exfoliate on a deeper level. Ensure you do a patch test before applying on your entire face.

3. Steam

If you don't have a steamer, create a DIY steam bath. If you do a skin peel, do this step during masking, because the heat can irritate your skin. For those with sensitive skin or visible capillaries, eliminate this step.

Boil some water in a pot, add a few drops of essential oils or herbs, then hold your face over the water with a towel draped over your head.

4. Extract

This is an optional step, but if you include it, do it carefully. Avoid dangerous comedone extractors as they can cause scarring.

If you have red, deep, inflamed breakouts, leave them alone. Extracting them increases the risk of spreading bacteria and worsening the condition.

Cover your index fingers with gauze, tissues, or cotton squares. Use scoop and roll motions on each area. The compaction from a blackhead should easily come to the surface, while whiteheads should pop. Immediately swipe an antiseptic toner over the treated areas to prevent the spread of bacteria.

5. Massage

Apart from the traditional facial massage, you can experiment with using tools such as jade rollers or a gua sha stone, or you can do the lymphatic drainage method.

6. Mask

Masks minimize the appearance of large pores, reduce dullness, remove impurities, replenish moisture, give you radiance, even out your skin tone, clarify and balance your skin, and more.

You can steam at this time or lie down for 15-20 minutes and relax with a cold compress across your eyes. Remove the mask with a warm towel.

7. Treat and moisturize

Follow with a toner, then apply treatment products such as serums, eye cream/gel, and spot treatment before your moisturizer.

We recommend that you do such facials before going to sleep, giving your skin enough time to reap all the benefits.
