1. Hydrate in every step

Skin becomes drier with age. So hydrating is crucial for mature skin.

Hydration refers to feeding the skin with water and other hydrating ingredients, while moisturizing locks in the hydration. No matter your skin type, it always needs hydration.

The 4-Step Sole Toscana Skincare Set has hydrating ingredients in its cleanser, serum, eye cream, and face cream. It hydrates and nourishes in every step.

2. Use warm water

Hot water can strip your skin of natural oils and dry it out. Turn down the temperature to a warm, comfortable level.

3. Use a pure, gentle cleanser

A lot of your grocery store cleansers have harsh, toxic ingredients. Even "clean" skincare brands often have harsh chemicals. These cleansers strip the natural oils from you skin, which is the last thing you want.

4. Moisturize quickly after washing

Cleansing your face feeds your skin with water and other hydrating ingredients. (If you use the right cleanser!)

Don't let your skin dry out before moisturizing. Lock in that hydration by quickly applying a moisturizer like Sole Toscana's Rosehip & Calendula Triple Cream.

5. Try less makeup

Makeup can clog pores, cause an oil imbalance, increase the risk of bacteria, make fine lines more prominent, and damage eyelashes.

Less makeup can often improve the health of your skin, which gives you even more confidence to wear less makeup!

6. Gently exfoliate, as needed

As we age, the our skin's natural exfoliant process slows down. This can lead to dead skin cell build-up or dry-skin patches that create a barrier to feeding our skin with quality ingredients.

This is why a gentle exfoliator can really be a game changer. It removes all the nasty stuff and purifies the skin.

7. Nourish the delicate skin around the eyes

The skin around our eyes goes through a lot of stress. It's more sensitive, thinner, and has less fat and muscle to support it.

Feed it with nourishing, brightening, and firming ingredients like those found in the Espresso Bright Eyes.

8. Look for fragrance-free products

Fragrances and perfumes are one of the leading causes of irritation. Look for products that have zero fragrances or perfumes.

If you see "fragrance" or "parfum" in the ingredients list, ask more questions...such as if the fragrance is synthetic or natural and what it's composed of. In general, natural fragrances are safer and less irritating (although this varies by each person's unique skin).

Remember, fragrance-free products may still have a scent from the natural ingredients in the product.

9. Use truly clean products

Lots of skincare brands claim to be "clean" or "organic" while still having harsh, toxic ingredients. The USDA regulations are very loose.

We recommend finding skincare products that are certified organic by a third party. Better yet, find a brand certified by EU standards - typically the highest standards in the industry.

10. Pay attention to your skin's needs

Your skin's needs are always changing. Hormones, changing seasons, stress, and many other factors are impacting your skin.

Pay attention! Does it need a little more cream than usual right now? A gentle exfoliation this week? More hydration (2 skincare routines/day)? Is that new makeup bothering it?

Try to be mindful and make the necessary adjustments.
