This guide will help you both identify and also care for your unique skin. (Be aware that your skin type can change over time due to various factors. Pay attention to changes that remain consistent over time!)
First, identify your skin type based on the information below:
Dry Skin: This is the most common skin type for older women. Your skin feels dry, tight, and rough throughout the day. You may also notice flaky or cracked skin.
Oily Skin: Your skin feels greasy throughout the day. Enlarged pores are noticeable and you have frequent outbreaks.
Combination Skin: Your skin feels greasy in some areas and dry in other areas. Typically, the t-zone area (forehead, nose, and chin) is where you experience oily skin.
Normal Skin: Your skin rarely feels dry or oily. (You likely have great genes and have consistently treated your skin right...don't stop and look for changes as you get older!)
Sensitive Skin: Your skin commonly experiences irritation (rashes, red spots, break outs, etc.), especially when exposed to new products or environments. If you have sensitive skin, it's in conjunction with one of the skin types already mentioned.

Complete a full skin care routine morning and night.
Use a gentle and hydrating cleanser that balances pH levels and doesn't strip the skin of natural oils.
Use products with hydrating and moisturizing ingredients in EVERY step of your routine. (Natural ingredients to look for: aloe vera, sodium hyaluronate, rosewater, jojoba oil, olive oil, calendula, and more.)
Gently exfoliate 1-2x a week to remove any dry-skin build-up or other barriers that prevent your skin from soaking in the hydrating ingredients in your daily routine.
Use lukewarm water (not hot!) when cleansing, so you don't strip your natural oils.
For sensitive dry skin: Use certified organic skincare products, and look for soothing ingredients (e.g., aloe vera, rosewater, rosehip, calendula, jojoba, shea butter, and others).

Cleanse morning and night.
Use moisturizers with non-comedogenic ingredients to prevent clogging your pores, such as shea butter, rosehip oil,
grapeseed oil, aloe vera, and jojoba oil.
Gently exfoliate and purify 2-3x a week. Avoid harsh scrubbing in the process, which can stimulate more oil production.
Use gentle ingredients. Some people with oily skin think they need harsher cleansers and exfoliates. Using drying products, or over washing, can cause increased oil production.
Less is more, when it comes to makeup. Overloading on heavy makeup can clog pores and contribute to further oiliness.
For sensitive oily skin: Use certified organic skincare products, especially in your cleanser, and look for soothing ingredients (e.g., aloe vera, rosewater, rosehip, calendula, jojoba, shea butter, and others).

Use a gentle cleanser that doesn't strip moisture from the dry areas.
Use hydrating, non-oily serums and creams that moisturize dry areas without clogging oily areas.
Apply less moisturizer to the oily areas.
Gently exfoliate and purify 1-2x a week to remove any dry-skin build-up or other barriers, and unclog pores. Exfoliate less in dry areas.
