5 Rejuvenating DIY Recipes for Youthful Skin - Sole Toscana

If you're on a quest for youthful-looking skin, we've put together some face mask recipes we know you'll enjoy. Many of these ingredients are fresh, providing our skin with the nutrients it needs to stay supple.

How to apply face masks

Cleanse your skin before applying a mask.

After application, lay down with your feet raised to encourage blood to flow to your face. Put on your favorite playlist and immerse yourself in relaxation.

You can leave a mask on for 15-20 minutes, or until it dries. If it dries too fast, spritz it with water or a toner.

Use warm water to rinse your mask off. If needed, use a washcloth to remove it all. Splash cold water on your face to close your pores.

After this, follow up with your toner, serum, and oil. With consistent use, your skin will take on a youthful glow.

5 Rejuvenating facial mask recipes

These recipes mostly use ingredients you have in your kitchen.

Brightening and lightening mask

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 teaspoon freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon organic yogurt
  • 1 tablespoon sandalwood powder

INSTRUCTIONS:

When your skin looks dull, mix all these ingredients, apply to your face, and leave it on until the mask dries. Massage the ingredients into your face while rinsing them off for exfoliation. After you wash it off, your skin will look bright and refreshed.

The lactic acid in yogurt helps smooth and moisturize the skin, while sandalwood powder has many benefits.

Egg mask

INGREDIENTS:

One egg

INSTRUCTIONS:

Beat the egg then apply it to your face. Once it dries, wash off gently and enjoy skin that appears tighter and more toned.

The potassium in eggs preserves moisture within the skin, while riboflavin (vitamin B2) protects us from environmental stressors.

A mask to de-puff your eyes

INGREDIENTS:

  • White tea

INSTRUCTIONS:

Boil the water, then wait until it cools down before steeping the tea. Once the tea has cooled to a temperature comfortable for your face, soak a washcloth in it and place the cloth over your eyes.

The heat opens your pores, allowing the tea to penetrate your skin. White tea de-puffs the appearance of your eye area. It also has antioxidants that help your skin in general.

Moisturizing avocado + honey mask

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • ½ small and ripe avocado

INSTRUCTIONS:

Combine the ingredients and apply to your face. If you have combination skin, use only on the drier areas of your face. Leave it on for at least 15 minutes. For better absorption, warm the honey before mixing with the avocado.

The fats in avocado give your skin moisture, while vitamin E helps even out your skin tone. Honey is a humectant, meaning it binds moisture to the skin. It also brightens the look of your skin.

Rejuvenating mask

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 teaspoon of instant oatmeal or oat flour
  • 1 teaspoon of facial-quality clay
  • ½ tablespoon of powdered milk
  • 1 teaspoon of olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon of honey
  • water, to achieve a paste consistency
  • 1 drop of any essential oil (neroli, rose, lavender, or frankincense work well)

INSTRUCTIONS:

Mix the first five ingredients until thoroughly combined. Add enough water to achieve a paste. Add one drop of the essential oil of your choice and mix until combined.

Apply to your face and enjoy the aromatherapy effect. Rinse off after fifteen minutes.

Clay has lots of minerals and removes impurities from the skin, while milk cleanses and nourishes. Ensure you use high quality, organic, full-fat milk for optimal benefits.

Honey helps bind moisture to your skin and has skin brightening qualities. Olive oil provides moisture and nourishment. The benefits you enjoy from the essential oil will differ depending on which you choose, but choose an aroma that helps you relax.

Set aside time for a weekly mask to keep your skin young and nourished. Doing this consistently will give you fantastic results.

To boost the benefits of facial masks, use an organic serum like our Neroli Radiance Serum.
