Studies show that having positive relationships leads to longer, healthier lives. People experience more joy when they feel close connections with multiple people.
As we age we tend to value relationships more, and we usually have more time to nurture those relationships. These can include both family and friends. (Research actually suggests having family AND friend relationships are both important.)
Who are the people you appreciate and love the most? Are you working to build deeper connections with them, and even build new relationships?
It's true that wisdom often comes with age.
The more we experience throughout life, the more we learn. We learn about ourselves, others, and the world around us. And this wisdom gives us unique direction and purpose specific to our needs.
There's also great joy in sharing our wisdom with others, at the right moments. And the beauty of wisdom and learning? The more we learn, the more we realize we don't know. This can bring a curiosity and desire to continue learning new things throughout our life...bringing us more wisdom!

Gratitude is one of the strongest correlations psychologists find when it comes to people living happy, fulfilling lives.
As women age, it becomes easier to be grateful and find joy in the little things. In fact, psychology shows the brain actually goes through physical changes as we age that make it easier to be more grateful.
Are you finding ways to be grateful? Try taking a little time each day to think about what your are grateful for, or to notice the beautiful "little things" in life. Maybe even write them down!
For many women, aging means freedom...more time!
The responsibilities surrounding work and family typically decrease. This leaves more time, and with that time you have more freedom to choose how you spend it...
Need a quiet space? You can usually get it. Need to pamper yourself? You can usually find a slot in your schedule. Want a night out with your significant other or friends? Its much easier now that you don't need to find a babysitter, or worry about the work deadline tomorrow. Have the means to travel? Its easier to make it happen.
As women age, they tend to develop more empathy for friends, family, and strangers.
This often comes through reading books, video content, emotional real-life experiences, and friendships and acquaintances who come from different backgrounds, beliefs, and cultures.
Empathy brings deep connection and love that results in experiencing joy with those around you.
As you age, you've been through a lot - failure, success, joy, sadness, and much more. Through it all, you come to find your personal truths that make you unique. You find who you truly are at the core.
In addition, having more time for hobbies and self-development will lead you to finding yourself. You may find new passions or rediscover something that brings you a lot of joy.
Aging is a beautiful thing...don't let the media tell you otherwise! Instead, embrace the beautiful aspects of aging, take care of yourself inside and out, and spread the love with all those around you!
